Guide
Nagaland is situated in the north-eastern corner of the country and has Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur on its borders, while Myanmar is an international boundary on the east. The Naga Hills crosses through this small state,in which Saramati is the highest peak and its height is 12,600 ft. Dhansiri, Doyang, Dikhu and Jhanji are the main rivers which flows across the state.Earlier the place was ruled by the center but in 1963, Nagaland was made a state.

In Kohima, the Second World War Cemetery, State Museum and Zoo are the principal places of interest here. Excursions from Kohima lead to Khonoma village, Japfu peak, Dzakou Valley and Mokokchung. The Intaki sanctuary, at a distance from Kohima, is the home of the hoolok baboon, the only gibbon in India.
