Description and Day-wise Itinerary
Amazing Mekong Legend


Day 1: Ho Chi Minh - My Tho - Ben Tre - Can Tho (L,D):
Enter the world of the Mekong delta where the mighty river inundates the land every year flooding the land to a depth of several metres. Cruising by private sampan (traditional boat) through the vast network of canals, visting colorful floating markets, rural villages, cottage industries, orchards loaded with exotic fruits and lots more. There is nothing quite like it in Vietnam or even in the rest of the world 2 hour drive ahead to My Tho helps you get away from Ho Chi Minh bustling city. Transfer to small boat and then our boat trip start around four beautiful Islets: Dragon, Unicorn, Tortoise and Phoenix on Tien River.


Through Xep canel to visit Mekong traditional houses at Quoi An village (make all from coconut tree). See coconut collection set and how the locals make handicrafts from coconut trunk and shell. Enjoy seasonal fruits and listening to traditional music. Take the horse-cart on village path and stop at Ben Truc orchard, taste honey with tea or wine. See bees-breeding in wooden boxes at local farms. Have lunch at local restaurant before continuing the drive to Can Tho. Overnight at hotel in Can Tho.

Day 2: Can Tho - Cai Rang floating market - Chau Doc (B,L,D):
Early morning starts your day with a boat trip to Cai Rang - the most colorful and busiest floating market in Mekong Delta. The market offers insights of the region. Have time to explore the real rural daily life. Have lunch in Can Tho before departing to Chau Doc. Enjoy Lady Xu Temple sunset on Sam Mount, (if time permits). Stay over night at hotel in Chau Doc.

+ Visit: Cai Rang Floating Market, Sam Mount.
+ Meal: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 3: Chau Doc - Express boat - Phnompenh (B):
The Kingdom of Cambodia is located at the center of the Mekong region, bordering Laos to the north, Vietnam to the south and Thailand to the east. Cambodia has a rich and glorious history, most famously represented by Angkor Wat, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and an unequalled feat in ancient architecture. Additionally, Cambodia is a nation rich in tradition and natural beauty. It offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience an exotic culture of traditional theatre, dance and festivals that are held through out the year.

Sunrise breakfast and then you will be transfered to boat station for express boat depart from Chau Doc at about 7h00. Arrive in Phnompenh at about 1h00 pm. Check in your hotel.

Afternoon, visit the Victory Monument, and the National Museum, also called Musee des Beaux-Arts. A French archaeologist and painter, Georges Groslier, designed it in Khmer style in 1917. Visit the Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town, and the Silver Pagoda. Located within the grounds of the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5000 silver tiles. End your afternoon with the visit of the Wat Phnom Temple, Phnom Penh's namesake, from where you can enjoy views over the tree-lined avenues of the city during sunset.
Overnight at Tai Ming Plaza 3 star hotel (standard double room).

Day 4: Phnompenh - Siem Reap (B,L,D):
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Phnom Penh International Airport and departure by Siem Reap Airways International or similar to Siem Reap. Arrive at Siem Reap International Airport and transfer to the hotel (rooms may not ready until the afternoon).
In the morning, visit Prasat Kravan with its unique brick sculptures and Ta Prohm. One of the area's most beautiful temples, Ta Prohm has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery. Visit as well Takeo, Chau Say Tevoda and Thommanon. Lunch at local restaurant. Visit Preah Khan temple. Built by the King Jayavarman VII. Unlike Ta Prohm, however, Preah Khan is in a reasonable state of preservation and ongoing restoration efforts should maintain and even improve this situation.

Continue your visits to Neak Pean, a fountain built in the middle of a pool and representing the paradisiacal Himalayan mountain-lake and visit the temple of Ta Som as well as Srah Srang ("The Royal Baths"), undoubtedly used in the past for ritual bathing. Upsara dinner performance.
Overnight at Casa Angkor 3 star hotel (superior twin/double room).

Day 5: Siem Reap discovery (B,L):
Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, visit the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor: "Angkor Wat". The temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodian flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Lunch at local restaurant.
Visit the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century). See the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and Bayon Temple (unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara), until sunset.

Overnight at Empress Angkor 4 star hotel (superior twin/double room).

Day 6: Siem Reap discovery (B,L):
Breakfast at hotel. Morning, transfer to Banteay Srei temple (10th c), regarded as the jewel in the crown of Classical Khmer Art. Visit the floating village of Chong Khneas, located 10 kilometers south of Siem Reap. Take a traditional wooden boat for a ride on the Tonle Sap Lake, the "Great Lake" of Cambodia, one of the largest in Asia.

Lunch at local restaurant. Visit "Les Artisans d'Angkor - Chantiers Ecoles" of Siem Reap and time at leisure at the local market (if time permits). Transfer to Siem Reap International Airport for departure flight to the next destination.
