Description and Day-wise Itinerary
The Hampta pass Chadratal lake trek to Darcha is considered to be one of the most beautiful treks in the Himalayas. The best season to go is from July to September end each year. Participants must have some experience of trekking in the Himalayas or they should be physically very fit.

Day 1: Manali[2010m] - Sethan[2800] - 8 kms - 5-6 hours

On the first day we climb hard to our camp at Sethan. Overnight in tents.

Day 2: Sethan[2800m] - Juara[3600m] - 10 kms - 4-5 hours

Walk along the ridge amongst flowers and reach beautiful Juara. Overnight in tents

Day 3: Juara[3600m] - Shiagouru[3600m] - 10 kms - 5-6 hours

Climb hard to cross the Hamta Pass at 4268 m. From here one can get superb views of Deo Tibba, Indrakilla, Indrasan. Overnight in tents.

Day 4: Shiagouru[3600m] - Chattru[3300m] - 6 Kms - 3-4 hours

A adventurous day with a tricky crossing of a stream and a steep descent is difficult specially if the weather is wet. Overnight in tents.

Day 5: Chattru[3300m] - Chotadara[3500m] - 16 kms - 5-6 hours

Today we walk along the Chandra river on a almost straightforward deserted path. Overnight in tents

Day 6: Chotadara[3500m] - Batal[3950m]

Walking alongside the river Bhaga we get breathtaking views of the Bara Sigri [barasigri] Glacier and the tall himalayan peaks. Overnight in tents.

Day 7: Batal[3950m] - Chandratal[4270m] - 17 kms - 5-6 hours

Today is an easy gradient. On the way we get good views of the Chandrabhaga range of mountains. In the evening we reach the "Lake of the Moon".Overnight in tents.

Day 8: Chandratal

A well deserved rest day at Chadratal lake.

Day 9: Chandratal[4260m] - Tokpo Gongma[4320m] - 15 kms - 6 -7 hours

Today we walk along meadows and get excellent views of Glaciers and peaks. Overnight in tents

Day 10: Tokpo Gongma[4320m] - Tokpo Yongma[4640M] - 12 kms - 5-6 hours

Another brush with adventure, another river crossing or maybe a snow bridge or two. Enjoyable trek to our next campsite.

Day 11: Tokpo Yongma[4640m] - Baralacha la[4833m] - 10 kms - 4-5 hours

Climb onto the Flat top of the majestic Baralacha pass in the Lahaul valley and enjoy the view of the Suraj Tal lake. The three rivers, Chandra - Bhaga - Yunam, originate here. Overnight on the banks of the Suraj Tal lake.

Day 12: Baralacha la[4833m] - Patsio[patseo][3820m] - 19 kms - 5-6 hours

Walk down the road to some of the most beautiful scenery in the Himalayas. Walk along the Bhaga river to a meadow campsite

Day 13: Patseo[3820m] - Darcha[3200m] - 13 kms - 3-4 hours

We walk down to the old trading junction of India and Tibet. Darcha is the starting point for Zanskar and Ladakh. Overnight in tents or drive up to Jispa for a well deserved rest in Hotel Ibex.
